Access to the property was at the end of a dead end road, with the turning bulb located in the front yard. Negotiations allowed a new cul de sac to be located at the beginning of the property. A new driveway curved through the field creating views through the prominent chestnut tree into the courtyard area framed by the tree, house and barn beyond. Relationships between all buildings were strengthened through sight lines, adjacent building cutouts and an integrating Nova Scotia slate path.
